History

Founded in 1966, Ethox International began what has become a four-decade commitment to the production of high quality medical devices. Built upon a select core of competencies, Ethox was one of the first contract manufacturing and sterilization service providers in the industry. Six years later the company expanded its offering to laboratory services and a small line of hospital products.

In 1989, the company extended its capabilities and opened a facility dedicated to sterilization services, providing 100% Ethylene Oxide sterilization as well as steam, irradiation and validation services.

In February of 2005, Ethox acquired STS duoTEK, further expanding the company's capabilities in toxicology, analytical chemistry and microbiology. In September of 2005, Ethox opened a new facility in China, further enhancing the company’s global production efficiency and distribution. As a result, Ethox International has become one of the largest fully integrated contract medical manufacturers in the United States.

Today Ethox International distributes more than 80 brand name hospital products in almost every country in the world, and is the only contract service provider able to offer one source for all your medical and pharmaceutical needs worldwide.

Infu-Surg® Disposable Pressure Infuser Bag

Ethox International presents the Infu-Surg® disposable pressure infuser bag. The Infu-Surg® provides reliable results and quality performance, but unlike traditional means of IV infusion, the Infu-Surg® is equally convenient, beneficial, and simple to operate.

These infuser bags are individually packaged and designed for single-patient use, which essentially prevents complications during important hospital transport. The bags stay with a patient as they are moved into different departments, saving time and confusion. Disposable products encourage productivity as well. Time is saved for other crucial tasks because cleaning and sterilizing procedures can be eliminated. Most importantly, single-patient use of these devices prevents any possibility for cross contamination.

The bags load quickly and easily, and are single-hand operated, which allows the health care worker to simultaneously control other operating devices. The Infu-Surg® is adaptable with most IV bags and are available in multiple sizes. In addition, the Infu-Surg® has wide versatility because the same methods and principles can be applied to the infusion of a variety of fluids. Surgi-Press® Infuser

Ethox International’s Surgi-Press® is a durable and effective instrument for proper and accurate infusion. The infuser is designed with a spring driven piston that only needs to be loaded and wound up to produce and generate powerful and consistent propulsion. Continuous pressure is exerted upon the fluid bag with minimal variance. The device does not require any periodic pumping, and it is not necessary to monitor the infusion. There is no bulb, no gauge, and hand pressurization is not necessary.

The dependability and quality of this product is evident in the durable enclosure. The infuser has a solid case molded from glass fiber reinforced polypropylene, ensuring its long-term use and efficiency. The Surgi-Press® provides the means for rapid and easy infusion without requiring any special disposables, selective training, or unique cleaning methods.

Combiguard II® High Pressure Irrigation Splash Guard & Combiport® Wound Irrigation Device

Combiguard II®

Ethox International offers an economical product that encompasses innovative design and effective function for wound irrigation. This product provides a less cumbersome alternative to the commonly performed irrigation procedure. The Combiguard II® produces a fluid stream that is equivalent to a 18g. needle. The pressure creates organized debris removal which in effect prevents the possibility of infection. The guard has splash back protection and a clear and durable plastic design. The guards are sterilized and individually packaged.

Combiport®

Although the traditional syringe and catheter based method has been used for many years, this old-fashioned process is costly and time consuming. In an emergency setting, when every second is crucial, Ethox’s Combiport® provides a faster and easier method. The Combiport® comes in a sterile peel-open pouch with a removable cap for easy operation. The universal end port fits standard IV bags and there is minimal set up time. The Combiport® is effective for administering a high volume of fluid in a short period of time. In an effort to protect the wound, high pressure irrigation removes foreign bodies, reduces pathogen numbers, and moistens the tissue. The Combiport® is a cost-effective and advantageous product for such an important procedure.

Surgi-Stuf® Hand/Foot Pack

The polyester fiber that is used to make Ethox International’s Surgi-Stuf® is easy to tear and aids in the precise positioning of the feet or hands by separating fingers and toes for a variety of medical procedures. The product is a voluminous material that allows pressure to diffuse from the hands or from the feet preventing potential tissue constriction. The pack is nonabsorbent which means that it remains supportive and will provide sufficient compression. Surgi-Stuf® is hypo-allergenic and sterile.

Surgi-Cuf® Adult and Neonatal Disposable Blood Pressure Cuffs

In an effort to reduce the transfer of infections, prevent harmful cross contamination, and to present a more efficient and economical means of blood pressure testing and observation – Ethox International offers the Surgi-Cuf® disposable blood pressure cuff.

These are individually packaged and cleaned cuffs that are ready for use. They are available in a full range of circumference sizes and models for varying connectors. The cuffs also utilize hook and loop fasteners to provide a snug and exact fit.

The Surgi-Cuf® meets the American Heart Association’s recommendations for accuracy, therefore ensuring consistency and reliability.

The Surgi-Cuf® is also available for infants. The neonatal line of cuffs provides the same quality and cost-effective advantages.

The infant models are sterile and individually wrapped, preventing the introduction of infection to the undeveloped immune system of a neonate. The cuff is gentle and clear with a soft, latex free, vinyl design this prevents skin irritations and allows the patient’s skin to be visible during the procedure. The cuff is designed with soft rounded corners and edges for increased protection and comfort.

Tum-E-Vac® Gastric Lavage

Gastric Lavage Kit

Ethox International is proud to showcase the innovative Tum-E-Vac® gastric lavage kit. This is a pre-assembled closed system that is designed to prevent exposure to stomach contents and charcoal solutions during gastric lavage or decontamination procedures.

Gastric Lavage Tubes

Ethox’s lavage tubes are of superior quality and are designed for effective use. These lavage tubes have an open tip design with multiple eyelets to create free flowing movement with low resistance, which speeds up the procedure without having to use mucosa damaging suction. All tubes are individually packaged which prevents possibilities of contamination. There is no cleaning required and the product is ready for immediate use.

Easy Glide® Premium Nasogastric Weighted Feeding Tubes

Ethox International’s Easy Glide® feeding tube is designed to ease insertion, confirm proper placement, and to maximize fluid flow. The bolus of the feeding tube is equipped with solid tungsten weights which help guide the tube during the directional phases of the procedure. In addition to the weighted bolus, the braided stylet is of stainless steel, which stiffens the tube and facilitates insertion.

The tubes also feature large bore feeding eyelets that provide unrestricted fluid flow and reduce the possibility of having clogged ports. The insertion markings on the tube additionally help for placement purposes and for increasing fluid flow.

In addition to being efficient, these tubes are cost effective. The Easy Glide® feeding tube is made up of a medical grade polyurethane which makes the tube durable and allows it to remain in place for up to 30 days. This essentially minimizes the number of tube placements required and prevents further complications in the procedure.

Surgi-Kit® Instrument Holders and Suture Organizers

These disposable instrument holders are available in multiple configurations to accommodate surgeon or physician needs. With the use of the Surgi-Kit®, instruments can be kept close to the operating field which in turn saves time. The kit attaches securely to the operating drape with either adhesive tape or surgical clamps and the instruments are securely held in place with cords or hoses. The kits are sterilized, therefore eliminating the need for cleaning procedures.
