Rodney H. Kay has been working in Information Technology for over 30 years. In that time, he has worked in computer operations, software development, systems management, systems analysis, design, development, and systems integration. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Kay has specialized in healthcare informatics with both the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs working with the Veterans Health Administration. Mr. Kay worked in the academic field with the development of the World Vista open source software on both the Linux and OpenVMS platforms using Sanchez Corp.’s GT.M protocol. Internationally, Mr. Kay also worked with the Internet Engineering Task Force (http://www.ietf.org/) on the Fast Handoff for Mobile Internet Protocol v 6.0. Mr. Kay has preferred to stay in the background, promoting the use of automation to provide clinical information to the desktop.
