Transesophageal Systems for Management of Cardiac Disease, Transesophageal Cardiac Stimulator and Bipolar Esophageal Catheter and Esophageal Stethoscope with Bipolar Electrodes for Cardiac Stimulation
Transesophageal Pacing & Recording
CardioCommand takes advantage of the anatomical proximity between the esophagus and left atrium for minimally invasive pacing and monitoring of the heart. Our transesophageal systems are safe, easy-to-use and provide unique options for management of cardiac disease: Non-exercise cardiac stress testing in less time and with less risk of dysrhythmia as compared to dobutamine. Radionuclide or echocardiography exams that would be difficult with conventional exercise testing. Differential diagnosis of complex arrhythmias with amplified P-wave of the esophageal ECG. Anti-tachycardia (``overdrive``) pacing for cardioversion of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) or atrial flutter. Induction of SVT or flutter to evaluate atrial vulnerability or efficacy of anti-arrhythmia therapies (drugs, ablation). Temporary atrial pacing for patients with bradycardia, hypotension or sick sinus syndrome (SSS). Esophageal electrophysiology and temporary atrial pacing in infants and children with a 5 French catheter (Tapcath).

TAPSCOPE 210TM
Cardiac Stimulation with the Esophageal Stethoscope
TAPSYSTEMTM Model 2-A Stimulator with TAPSCOPETM Esophageal Stethoscope CardioCommand`s TAPSCOPE provides the monitoring features of a standard esophageal stethoscope (heartsounds, core temperature), with additional options of atrial pacing for intraoperative management of hemodynamic (when connected to the 2-A Stimulator) and recording of esophageal ECG (connected to EC-ViewTM adaptor). Operation of the Esophageal Stethoscope CardioCommand Model 2A TAPSYSTEMThe Model 2A generates cardiac stimulation pulses which are administered to the patient`s heart via the TAPSCOPE 550, an 18 Fr esophageal stethoscope with bipolar pacing electrodes. All circuitry is contained on a single printed circuit board mounted behind the front control panel. When the power switch is toggled to ON, DC power from 2 D-cell batteries is applied to a power regulation circuitry, a DC-DC converter, and a rectangular pulse forming circuit with a constant current output stage whose amplitude can be varied over a broad range of load impedances. Hospital Biomedical Engineers requiring a complete Model 2A Service Manual (including circuitry schematics and parts list) should contact CardioCommand Customer Service at 1-800-231-6370. Model 550 TAPSCOPE18 French esophageal stethoscope with MA100 Series Thermistor and bipolar electrodes for connection to Model 2A Stimulator (cardiac pacing) or to EC-View Adaptor (ECG recording). Esophageal catheter has markings indicating Depth of Insertion of electrodes from the lips (cm). Each single-use, disposable TAPSCOPE is individually pouched. 25 units are shipped per carton. EC-View ECG AdaptorWhen the TAPSCOPE is not used for pacing, the bipolar electrodes can be used for monitoring of the esophageal ECG using the EC-View Adaptor. Two snap contacts allow attachment of standard ECG leads for connection with ECG monitors or other recording devices. Adaptors are individually pouched and shipped as single units. 2A Pole MountMetal frame for attaching Model 2A TAPSYSTEM to hospital pole.
