Thumb supports are for dealing with thumb pain that disables because it affects overall hand function. Tendonitis, de Quervain`s syndrome, arthritis and sports injuries cause thumb pain.
Thumb Splint ThumbKeeper for Gamekeeper`s Thumb
The FREEDOM® ThumbKeeper™ is a prefab thumb splint without the disadvantages often associated with prefab hand splints. It fits many people without adjustment and can be customized if necessary. Simple directions on how to trim and fit come with each splint.
It is used for:
- Gamekeeper`s thumb that immobilizes CMC and MP Joints
- Collateral ligament injuries
- Comfort and protection after an injury
The flexible Multiform™ Thin splinting material outer shell is lined with cushioning AliPlast™ foam. The prefab splint adjusts with the hand, constantly compensating for any change. It fits well and is comfortable to wear. User compliance is high. MP joint is held and protected.
D-Ring Closure -- Secure In Sports
The standard D-ring closure model is recommended where maximum joint support and motion restriction are important. Use it in sports or work where impact and stretching are expected. Cinching the D-ring closure abducts the thumb so motion at the CMC joint is restricted even more effectively.
Low Profile Thumb Splint, ThumbKeeper Closure
For the patient with chronic arthritis affecting the thumb, the low profile thumb splint, ThumbKeeper Closure, supports an unstable MP joint. With this splint, the thumb can be used as a stable post in grasp. Daily activities can continue uninterrupted. An overlap type palm closure replaces the D-ring closure. Those with arthritic hand involvement may find it difficult to manage the D-ring strap. Overlap palmar strap closure is easier to manipulate.
ThumbKeeper provides padded support for MP joint. ThumbKeeper™ includes all the therapeutic benefits of our standard ThumbKeeper plus padding for extra comfort, a flexible stay over the thumb, and total adjustability. D-ring strap is on the back so it won`t interfere with the palm, and adjustments can be made to the web space strap to ensure a custom fit.
- Padded for more comfort
- Support MP and CMC joints
- Flexible stay over thumb
- Adjust web space for custom fit
- Polyester-lined foam; black
Dr. Kho`s Amazing™ CMC Support for Therapist`s Thumb and CMC Arthritis: FREEDOM® Comfort™
Dr. Kho`s Amazing™ CMC Support is the better way to stabilize and support the CMC joint without any interference with hand function. The splint consists of two components: a soft Beta Pile II™ wrist band with stabilizing Velstretch® strap and a leather-like AliSoft™ hand stabilizing component with D-ring closure. A Beta Pile II™ strap passes through the thenar web space so softly you`ll hardly notice that it`s there. Dr. Lim-Kuy Kho, MD, FACS, developed this design for the occupational and physical therapists he was treating for ``therapist`s thumb,`` but it`s a great splint for anyone with CMC joint pain. Sizing: Measure width of MP joints from radial aspect of index finger to ulnar aspect of little finger.
Thermo Form Thumb Splints
DeRoyal`s low-profile thermo form thumb splints offer the benefits of a custom molded splint—comfort and compliance. Thermo form thumb splints feature an internal pocket that houses the thermoplastic insert. Insert can be molded directly on the patient and then inserted into the splint pocket, or molded directly in the pocket by heating the entire product in hot water until the insert is malleable. Thermo form thumb splints are available in three lengths to provide the appropriate amount of stabilization to the thumb and surrounding joints based on the injury or condition. Short and Medium lengths are indicated for thumb osteo or rheumatoid arthritis, MCP joint injuries (i.e. collateral ligament strains, arthritis, or tendon lacerations), MCP fusion, tendonitis, or joint fractures.
Thumb Spica Splints for Restricting Thumb Movement
Thumb pain is often associated with movement in the presence of inflammation and edema. Restricting thumb movement during inflammation can relieve pain, but splinting or casting can be difficult. Enclosing the thumb in a nonadjustable cylinder can be dangerous. FREEDOM® Thumb Spica Splints provide effective, off-the-shelf alternatives for protective positioning of thumb joints. So easy to wear, the user cooperates with the splint, avoiding painful motions even while performing daily activities. FREEDOM® Thumb Spica Splints
- Supports joint
- Gentle thumb support
- de Quervain`s, arthritis
Thumb Spica is ideal for de Quervain`s syndrome and arthritis affecting the MP and CMC joints. You can make adjustments to the shell with scissors to ensure that the distal edge of the thumb post doesn`t interfere with IP joint motion.
Wrist and Thumb Spica
- Supports wrist and thumb
- Relieves CTS pain w/thumb support
- de Quervain`s, rheumatoid arthritis
Wrist and thumb spica has a long thumb post and full support for the wrist. Use it to restrict all motion of the wrist and thumb.
