Synopsis

This paper is meant to answer some questions people may have about hospitalists. The objectives are to discuss the differences between their primary care doctor (the doctor they usually see for their general health care) and a hospitalist . What to expect if their primary care doctor refers them to a hospitalist. A hospitalist is a doctor who specializes in the care of patients who are in the hospital. For older patients, a hospitalist will most often be an internal medicine doctor or a family doctor.
