The UK eHealth Association, formerly the UK Telemedicine Association, has been formed to represent all those corporations and individuals interested in the development of eHealth in the United Kingdom. A number of Royal Colleges and other official bodies gave their written support to enable it to be formed as a non-profit making company limited by guarantee and governed by a Board of Trustees. A full copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the UK eHealth Association can be downloaded from our website.

PROMOTING EHEALTH POLICY, EHEALTH RESEARCH, EHEALTH STANDARDS AND EHEALTH EDUCATION
The Association aims to become the official national body promoting eHealth, which it will implement by promoting eHealth research, eHealth education, eHealth policy and eHealth standards, encouraging the adoption of uniform standards and practice, ensuring the recognition by the authorities of the need to protect the intellectual property rights developed in the industry, and interacting with eHealth associations in other countries.
To achieve its aim it will:
-
Provide a forum for its members to collaborate
-
Host an annual conference and provide facilities for the sharing of research, development and education
-
Provide a comprehensive website whereby information on eHealth can be disseminated
-
All members will have their own page(s) on the site, which will be interactive and linked to other eHealth resources.
It is intended to encourage membership from all participants in the development of eHealth, including specifically:
-
The medical and other caring professions
-
Companies supplying goods and services related to the use of eHealth
-
NHS Trusts and hospitals, both in the public and private sector
-
