Now you can offer and maintain cancer treatments like IMRT that will meet your price point and allow your patients the best treatment at your own facility.
Service
The OSI field network of specialist-trained linear accelerator service technicians has depth of experience, as its team members are factory trained and have designated specialists for Siemens, Varian and Elekta systems. There are also training experts in the newest technologies who ensure every highly-skilled OSI linear accelerator service technician has the knowledge to certify reliability on your machine. OSI's nationwide team stands behind all its equipment, maximizing uptime on any machines entrusted to OSI for maintenance.
With the largest independent network for professional radiation therapy service anywhere, a local OSI specialist is just a phone call away in most metro areas. Unlike most factory service operations, OSI offers 24/7 access to support. OSI's nationwide support network currently has more than 70 professional staff members, and is expanding rapidly.
OSI has a support contract to suit every situation:
- Full Parts and Labor - like an extended warranty with OSI taking responsibility for planned preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and ensure the performance of your equipment meets manufacturer's specifications.
- Labor only - like a full service contract above except that parts are billed as required.
- Guaranteed Maximum - similar to Labor only but OSI caps your maximum parts cost in a contract period to coinsure you on very expensive major repairs.
- Tailored contracts involving shared care with trained in-house technicians
- Time and Materials - for Removals, Installs, Refurbishments, Inspection Reports, and Troubleshooting using our highly-skilled OSI linear accelerator service technicians

Our mission, "says Philip Podmore OSI president" is to focus on providing a trustworthy alternative to the premium-priced OEM [original equipment manufacturer] for lifetime support of equipment needs in radiation therapy…so you can focus on your patient."
OSI strives to manifest that Mission by systematically and consistently providing outstanding high value support for the equipment needed in today's radiation therapy clinic. Company Evolution
In 1985, Philip Podmore saw the opportunity for quality independent service on radiation therapy equipment, and started his business, bringing more than a decade of Philips experience with him. He was soon joined by Ron Drake, Martin Shapiro and Ken Wright, engineers experienced in Varian and other brands sharing a similar ethic, of honest no-nonsense professional work. Satisfied customers grew, as Accelinear Service Company developed across the eastern and mid-western US. When, in 1999 the owners of TOG decided to sell their linear accelerator parts business, it was a logical that as one of their largest customers, Accelinear purchased them.
A successful west coast based provider of independent field service and pre-owned linear accelerators from Varian, Radiation Electronics, embraced similar values and skills to those of Accelinear. Thus in 2003 when Gregg Blandin and Domenic Greco merged their interests with Accelinear the result was the largest pan-national independent linear accelerator service company.
Meanwhile, since 1996 Linac Systems under the direction of James Sharkey, and his partners Glen Davis and Ken Stanton had set about proving refurbished equipment could be both economic and reliable, becoming the market leader for quality pre-owned Radiation Therapy equipment focusing on pre-owned Siemens Linear Accelerators, which the company refurbished to the highest standard in its FDA-registered factory.
The fall of 2003 saw the creation of Oncology Services International (OSI) following a merger between Accelinear and Linac Systems.
In spring 2004, Joe O'Connor and his company , RT Technical Services of Dallas, a second respected refurbisher of Varian pre-owned Linear Accelerators, joined OSI.
OSI continues its evolution into The One Source for value solutions to the Radiation Oncology community by adding to the strength of the merged company, partnerships with many prestigious technology vendors in the Radiation Therapy Equipment market, including Siemens, and Eclipse Medical Imaging to offer relevant solutions with the same guarantee of quality.
Headquartered in New Jersey, with additional refurbishment and inventory facilities in Georgia, Texas, Ohio, and California, we maintain a staff of highly trained linear accelerator service technicians, engineers and support staff in over 40 states, and in 3 other countries in Central and South America.
