Health on the Net Foundation is a non-governmental organization for guiding non-medical users and medical practitioners to reliable online medical information, telemedicine and medical informatics. |

Our mission is to guide lay persons and medical practitioners to reliable online medical information, telemedicine and medical informatics through tools such as HON Code of Conduct, MedHunt and HONselect. |

We develop medical search engines like MedHunt or MARVIN, i.e. Multi-Agent Retrieval Vagabond on Information Networks, a multi agent softbot that searches health web sites using 2DHunt, BioHunt, PACSHunt, HON index, and ExPASy index. |

Our Code of conduct, HONcode, upholds reliability and medical accuracy of healthcare information on the Internet. |

HONcode, is a set of guiding principles for health websites such as authority, complementarity, confidentiality, attribution, justifiability, transparency of authorship, transparency of sponsorship, honesty in advertising and editorial policy. |
|
There is a four-step process to apply for HONcode membership subject to fulfilling the requirements of HONcode principles. |
