Analyzer is a system used for testing of various samples like blood, urine, etc. There are two types of analyzers
The fully automatic analyzer is capable of communicating with an external PC in bi-directional way, able to store the requisitions, results and reagent list. The semi automatic analyzer communicates with the PC once the results are completed for the loaded tests by sending those results to the PC.
Medisoft Lab is now ready to communicate to the analyzer for posting test requisition, retrieving results and reagent installation. Software has to be configured once for all the tests done by the analyzer and then the software will take care of posting the requisition to the analyzer when the particular test has been selected on the Medisoft Lab and the results are automatically retrieved from the analyzer to the Medisoft Lab, in the same way reagent installation can also be done from the Medisoft Lab.

E-PEN, MEDISOFT
It is a pen like device, which helps us to maintain our natural writing in this digital world. The E-Pen system captures handwriting and converts it into digital ink. Then it can be sent as an email, fax or save it in to file/database. Everything written or drawn on paper will be captured automatically on the PC.
The E-Pen works under infrared technology and ultrasonic technology. It consists of wireless digital pen and a receiver. The tip of the pen contains ultrasonic technology and infrared technology. When the pen is used to write or draw, the red LED on the receiver goes out indicating that the receiver is receiving a signal from the E-Pen. When the tip of the pen touches the paper the receiver senses the position of the pen. The wireless pen holds a battery in its head, which helps it in sending continuous signals to the receiver.
The healthcare industry, one of the largest in the world, has been recording impressive rates of growth in India over the last decade. The demand, growing volumes and use of high levels of technology in healthcare called for quality software solutions for this sector. In healthcare software, doctors use the keyboard and mouse to maintain electronic medical records. But these records usually do not record the identity of the doctor, a practice that has the potential for confusion in the future. To avoid misinterpretations, medical records doctors need to be maintained along with identity of the doctor making the entry. The support for E-pen in our Medisoft applications help doctors in electronic maintenance of handwritten medical record and also ensure that correct medication reaches the patient.
In Medisoft, the areas where doctors interact with our application are diagnosis and prescription. If a doctor writes a prescription in usual way on a paper, the handwriting is captured and is displayed on the screen. He can save and retrieve it from the database along with other details of the patient.
BIOMETRICS
Biometrics encompasses automated methods of identifying or verifying a living person based on a physiological or behavioral characteristic. The phrase ``living person`` is used to distinguish biometric applications from forensics, which does not involve real-time identification of a living individual. Physiological biometrics is based on measurements and data retrieved from direct measurement of a part of the human body. A biometric system is essentially a pattern verification or identification.
