Medical Compressor Systems for Medical Air Supply
MEDICAL COMPRESSED AIR PLANT, AIR COMPRESSORS, AIR RECEIVER, FILTER DRYER MODULE, FILTERS, PLANT CONTROL SYSTEM Medical Compressed Air Plant CMS Medical Compressed Air Plant, offer a solution to the supply of medical air. Available with several pressure options, and compressor options. The plant is often configured to suit each project or plant room, or is available in a standard layout. Multiple compressor systems are available as standard. CMS Medical Compressed Air Plant General Description The CMS range of medical air plants provide a proven and reliable source of supply that will deliver the design flow rate of medical air under all operating conditions. The plant consists of two or more identical air compressors, compressed air receiver vessel(s) and an air filtration / dryer assembly including line pressure regulators. The plant is provided with a fully automatic control system, with manual override facility to minimise energy consumption and compressor wear. Air Compressors Air compressors are generally the oil lubricated single stage reciprocating type, which together with the after-cooler, auto drain, and safety valve are skid mounted to give maximum flexibility of layout. Fully enclosed, and acoustically lined, rotary screw compressors are available on larger models. Each compressor is driven by a 415v, three phase 50Hz electric motor with voltages and frequencies available to suit global conditions. Air Receiver One or more air receivers will be supplied manufactured and tested to BS5169 1975 Class E Grade 3 or EN 286. Other standards such as ASME, and third party designs / inspection are available. The receiver(s) is supplied with inspection access panels and automatic drain with manual by-pass. Each receiver is also supplied with a pressure gauge, safety relief valve and fusible plug, and is complete with lifting lugs and mounting feet. Filter Dryer Module The dryer module consists of duplex, twin absorber towers, containing activated alumina desiccant, of the fully regenerative type. When the plant is in operation one column is on stream removing water vapour from the delivered air whilst the other column is being dried and regenerated by passing a small air purge through it. No electrical heating is required to achieve the specified standards of dryness. Whilst this dryer is in operation, the standby dryer is ready to take over the duty on automatic selection should the duty dryer fail. The operation and regeneration cycle is fully automatic, controlled by the plant control system and requires no user input. Should a fault occur, either high dew point or low pressure then an alarm signal will be initiated and the standby dryer will operate. The use of a central plant control system ensures that the dryer air purge does not continue to operate under conditions of no load, which ensures efficient operation. The purge cycle can be controlled from the control panel, which enables the dryer module to achieve maximum efficiency irrespective of the ambient temperature and humidity. Pressure gauges, pressure switches, non return valves, and isolation valves are provided as standard on each dryer column. Filters All CMS Medical Air Plants are equipped with a duplex set of carefully selected filters, to ensure maximum air quality, and extended service life of the desiccant. Compressor air intake filter – to remove particles from entering the compression chambers which will cause wear to the sealing, and moving parts in the compressor. This ensures maximum efficiency of air flow capacity, and minimum oil mist carry over. 1st Pre-filter - to remove airborne dirt particles, dust and water / oil droplets, from the compressed air. 2nd Pre-filter - to remove by coalescing oil and water mist, created within the compressors and prevent contamination of the desiccant within the dryers. This prevents any contamination from entering the dryers. Ensuring maximum efficiency of the dryers, and extending the service life of the desiccant. Activated Carbon filter - to remove by adsorption, hydrocarbon vapours, and odours. Bacterial Filter - to ensure that the delivered air is free of bacterial contamination. All filters are provided with differential pressure gauges to indicate when a new element is require and due to the full duplex assembly, elements can be changed without the need for a system shut down. Plant Control System The system controls the fully automatic stop/start, compressor duty rotation, dryer duty rotation and plant monitoring whilst incorporating manual by-pass / selection facilities. Easy to understand panel display and functions with a logical layout.

Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging Systems and High Pressure Manifold Systems
ANAESTHETIC GAS SCAVENGING SYSTEMS, MEDICAL GAS ALARM TRANSMITTER, MEDICAL GAS OUTLET POINT, LOCKABLE LINE VALVE, LOCKABLE LINE VALVE, AND NON RETURN VALVE, HIGH PRESSURE MANIFOLD SYSTEMS AGSS Plant Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging System Plant, are available in simplex or duplex, configurations, and offer floor or wall mounting options, Weather proof enclosures are available as standard allowing the plant to be located outside. Remote control and alarm output are fitted as standard. AGSS Plant General Description Anaesthetic gas scavenging systems are designed to remove exhaled anaesthetic gas mixtures from operating theatres, anaesthetic rooms and recovery areas. The CMS AGSS Plant is the vacuum source for this active system of removal. The CMS AGSS Plant consists of a Simplex (Duty only) or Duplex (Duty and Standby) side channel exhauster, with a motor directly mounted and close coupled. The exhauster impeller does not come into contact with the pump housing, giving a long product life, and very low maintenance. The unit is driven by either a single or three phase electric motor. Voltage and frequency variants can be accommodated on request. The plant size is determined by the number of terminal units that the plant is servicing. The CMS AGSS Plant consists of the exhauster(s), electrical starter, vacuum regulating valve, exhaust flexible connections and condensation trap which is provided with all interconnecting pipework and wiring. The operating and indicating system, includes the facility to connect remote controllers in each operating department. Alarm relay contacts are fitted as standard on all models. Triplex plants can be provided on request which operate on a Two Pump Duty and One Pump Standby basis. On all plants with two or more pumps, should either Duty pump fail the Standby pump will automatically take over, and signal an alarm. During unexpected periods of higher than normal flow requirements, the standby pump will be called to run, and will operate to assist the Duty pump until the flow requirements return to normal. The plant is provided with a regulating valve installed on the plant, upstream of the exhausters to ensure the system performs safely and efficiently, and within the parameters specified. The CMS AGSS Plant, remote controlling and indicating system utilises 240vac, 110vac, or 24vac switching and indicating system. (240vac is fitted as standard) High Pressure Manifold Systems High Pressure Manifold Systems include:- Fully Automatic change over from duty to standby Manual change over from duty to standby Emergency Standby Manifold All High Pressure connections and line pressure connections are fitted with `O` ring seals, manifold panels are fitted with alarm outputs as standard, automatic type includes Medical Gas Alarm Transmitter, Medical Gas Outlet Point, Lockable Line Valve. Medical Vacuum Plant Products and Pump Systems
MEDICAL VACUUM PLANT, VACUUM PUMPS, VACUUM RECEIVER VESSELS, CONTROL SYSTEM, BACTERIAL FILTERS Medical Vacuum Plant CMS Medical Vacuum Plant, offer a solution to the supply of medical vacuum. Package and modular layouts are standard, with options to configure the plant to suit the project or plant room. Multiple pump systems are available as standard. Medical Vacuum Plant General Description The CMS Vacuum Plant consists of two or more vacuum pumps , receiver vessel(s), duplex bacterial filter assembly, control panels and associated pipe work and valves. Vacuum is produced by air-cooled, oil flooded rotary vane pumps, which evacuate a BS5169 vacuum / pressure vessel. Before air is drawn into the receiver it passes through a duplex bacterial filter assembly to remove bacteria which may have entered the piped distribution system via the terminal unit. The duplex arrangement allows the plant to remain in service while the filter element is replaced. A plant control system matches the system demand with pump selection which serves to reduce energy consumption and increase the life span of the pumps. The plant can operate with any set of duty pump(s) to supply the duty flow, with any bacterial filter assembly on duty, using the vessel(s) or bypassing the vessels, ensuring any component can be serviced, at any time, removing the need for a plant shutdown. Vacuum Pumps The vacuum pumps are identical units driven by a directly mounted close coupled wide band 380V - 415V three phase 50/60 Hz electric motor although other specific voltages and frequencies can be provided on request. All pumps have a minimum capacity of 200 l/m per kW corrected to NTP when the pump has equilibrated at nominal operating temperature whilst maintaining a pipeline pressure of 450 mm Hg. Vacuum Receiver Vessel(s) The vacuum vessel(s) are of welded steel construction to BS 5169 and are provided with inspection access panels and manual drain. The capacity of the vacuum receiver is calculated to have a minimum water capacity equal to the Average Continuous Demand rating of the plant in litres per minute at 450mm Hg. as per NHS document C11.
