One of the exclusive features of Interactive HIPAA is our helpful reminder tool -- Compliance Guard. Compliance Guard is always in the background waiting to protect you and your facility from creating non-compliant procedures and manuals. The HIPAA regulations contain numerous `mandatory` elements to be included in your office policy and procedures manual. If you attempt to remove or corrupt a `mandatory` element, you will see this screen. If you make any changes to, or delete this `mandatory` element, the Interactive HIPAA program will keep track of those changes. When you finish each section of the manual, you must review and approve the changes or deletions you have made.
With HIPAA, you will be affected one way or the other. Electronic billing, online claim status, etc. More importantly, the privacy standards are now in effect. The privacy standards are a patient`s right! You as a provider must provide all patients with HIPAA mandated procedures. Failure to comply could result in severe monetary penalties and possibly jail time.

The main screen literally walks you through the entire compliance project with a description of an office procedure. It explains what each procedure means, shows you that part of the law, explains what is required in your manual, and makes a list of what forms you will be using. You then view /edit that section of the policy/ procedure manual and the accompanying forms. Much of the structure of the policy/ procedure is required by law; however, in each section you are prompted to ``interact`` and add office specific information. This added information is then automatically imported into the manual and the forms!
