The systems deliver outstanding image quality and ergonomics, an efficient workflow, and rich DICOM functionality, thus enhancing the productivity of radiology departments. There are different variations to the SmartRAD, and they include:
SmartRAD Elite
The SmartRAD Elite is a premium single-panel x-ray system for chest and other upright applications. It comes with a variety of options, allowing efficient workflow in any radiography clinic, including:
- tube mounted on floor stand or ceiling mount
- wall stand optionally mounted on rails
- optional tilt and rotation of panel for horizontal projections
- optional mobile table
- optional automatic tracking – tube height follows receptor center
When installed with the ceiling mount, tilt option and float-top up/down mobile table, SmartRAD Elite provides a solution for all exposure positions.
SmartRAD OmniX
The SmartRAD OmniX is a single-panel multi-purpose universal arm system providing a cost effective ergonomic solution for the entire range of radiographic examinations. Continuously adjustable source-to-image distance (SID) of 40” - 70” (100cm - 180cm). Motorized swivel arm vertical movement for effortless, accurate setting. The SmartRAD OmniXTM has features including:
- mobile table
- cross lateral imaging for patient on table
- flat panel angulations +/- 45”
SmartRAD GeminiX
The SmartRAD GeminiX is a dual-panel system that covers the entire range of radiographic examinations for fast and easy operation and high patient throughput. The dual-panel configuration includes an upright DR panel, float-top table and ceiling tube mount. In combination with lateral rails for the wall stand, the system provides cross lateral imaging.
SmartRAD Retrofit
CMT provides a digital single/dual detector retrofit solution enabling an analog, film-based radiography suite to be easily and cost-effectively upgraded to a fully digital system. SmartRAD Retrofit provides solutions including:
- one or two digital panels
- workstation
- acquisition, processing, viewing and DICOM software
- touch screen monitor
- control and supply electronics
- mechanical interfaces to current room
- interface to current generator
- interface to HIS/RIS, DICOM printers and PACS
Each digital panel includes:
- trixell pixium 4600 FPD (other FPD optional for OEM accounts)
- hermetically sealed DuraRAD-QSLTM FPD enclosure
- AEC chamber
- removable grid
The solution is available to end-users via authorized dealers and OEM system integrators for integration with x-ray rooms of any configuration. Clinical applications of the SmartRAD series include:
- Rhapsody- CMT’s proprietary multi-resolution context-sensitive image processing software. It is applied to digital radiography images to reduce noise, enhance contrast and harmonize the appearance of diverse tissues on the image. Likewise, CMT’s Rhapsody allows a variety of tissue types, from lungs to soft tissue to bones, to be viewed on a single image with a harmonized, yet crisp and vibrant appearance. Subtle details are seen with rich contrast for any gray level and dynamic range. Rhapsody does not introduce edge or shadow artifacts. Nor, as with a perfect musical work, is a single note out of place. Rhapsody consistently delivers optimal image quality for softcopy viewing and printing. The algorithms can be tuned for specific clinical applications and body part protocols. A simple user-friendly interface allows the images to be tuned according to specific needs and personal preferences, and settings to be saved for future use.
- SmartStitch- an application for extended length imaging, covering up to 47” x 17” (120cm x 43cm) of the lower limbs or spine. Conventional stitching of x-ray images presents several challenges. It involves the use of a long cassette and exposure of several films or CR plates stacked vertically. The acquisition is based on an ultra-wide cone opening with a projection angle of up to 18° (SID=72” [180cm]). Geometrical distortions at the edges of the stitched image result in significant measurement errors. In contrast, SmartStitch acquisition is based on moving the receptor and tube laterally, solving the challenges of conventional stitching. The maximum projection angle is 7° (SID=72” [180]), and at a patient-to- receptor-face distance of 6” (15cm), geometrical distortion of the stitched image is significantly reduced. SmartStitch features an intuitive user interface and graphic measurement tools that allow stitched image creation and quantitative analysis in just minutes. The patient positioning stage that conveniently positions an upright patient and prevents motion between exposures helps the technologist ensure movement-free images. The stage includes an x-ray ruler that appears clearly in the images and serves as a guide and quality assurance tool in the stitching operation.
