PROTECTIVE MATERIALS, LEAD EQUIVALENT PROTECTIVE APRONS X-ray Protective Wear RayShield® X-Ban is the first real breakthrough in the manufacture of protective materials in many years. It`s a special synthetic composite protective material, built for strength and durability. The technology used in RayShield® X-Ban has created a product with greatly enhanced durability, quality, and far lighter weight than conventional lead vinyls. RayShield® X-Ban is manufactured under high quality control conditions and is certified as meeting the stringent DIN 6813 standards for X-ray Protection. RayShield® X-Ban is offered in two standard constructions. Only Lightweight RayShield® X-Ban 0.5mm Lead Equivalent Protective Aprons are manufactured using X-Ban® a special synthetic composite protective material that offers up to 8 to 10 times the dimensional strength and durability of lead vinyl. An advanced metallic deposition technique places lead and other materials in suspension, creating a lighter weight optimized protective apron material, which provides 0.5MM lead equivalent while averaging a weight improvement of 30% lighter than conventional lead vinyl aprons of 0.5mm lead equivalence. RayShield® X-Ban 0.35mm Lead Equivalent Protective Aprons are manufactured using X- Ban® a special synthetic composite protective material that offers up to 8 to 10 times the dimensional strength and durability of conventional lead vinyl. The 0.35mm lead equivalent provides approximately 96% X-ray absorption (attenuation) at 80 KVP and 93% X-ray absorption (attenuation) at 100 KVP, of scattered radiation, when compared to 0.5MM lead equivalent aprons. These aprons are up to 57% lighter than some standard 0.5MM lead equivalent competitive aprons. To our knowledge, no apron in the industry is lighter in weight while providing the same protection. Five Types of Advanced Table Pad Materials Pressure Displacing Foam Our standard material of high quality 2lb. density foam exceeds original manufacturers pad quality, with characteristics suitable for good pressure displacement and long procedures. Contour Foam A premium material offering the excellent body support and comfort. The technology for this type of foam was originally developed for NASA and used as seating material to relieve discomfort experienced by astronauts during extended flight space missions. Lami-Foam When long procedures cause bottoming out, which occurs when pressure points on the patients body begin to feel the table top, Lami-Foam is the answer. Made from a laminated combination of Contour Foam and Super-Support foam. Lami-Foam provides a superior combination of support and comfort. Lo-Sorb When imaging vessels and soft tissue in the low to mid-diagnostic energy ranges, table pads can make a big difference in image quality. Table pads can be the cause of image degradation due to high pad material attenuation in the range of .5 mm of Aluminum equivalence per inch of pad thickness. Lo-Sorb™ Table Pads provide the highly desirable low attenuation properties, 065 mm Al. equivalent per inch of pad thickness, that maximize imaging results.
